Our First Anniversary
(and the presents are for you)

It's our first anniversary at www.efuse.com - and the nice thing is that you get the presents for being such great readers! I really do appreciate your support and hope we all continue to help each other in the year 2000 (and beyond :) I know you're busy this holiday season, so I'll make this brief (unusual for me, I know).

Don't worry, I'm not going to go all Y2K on you. I didn't think it would happen to me, but I am getting a bit Y2K-happy. I know the year it's really arbitrary and that other calendars, like the Jewish one, make this year 5759, where 2000 is ancient history (by about y3k) Something to keep in mind!

But still, I remember looking at this date when I was a kid and thinking, "Ooh, flying cars, video telephones, space food sticks!" What we got, that no one expected, were computers and the web (which let you travel the world much more comfortably than flying cars any day). And I remember wondering how old I'd be and thinking, "That's really old." Now I look at how old I am and think, "That's not very old."

It's just the kind of thing that makes you look back on your life, see the twisty, bumpy, unexpected path you made, and reflect on what you want to do in the future. It's also time to realize that the future is now, and you'd better enjoy it now.

So I wish you a happy future. One where you can let go of old dreams that have lost their meaning, and where all the dreams you decide are really important come true.—Daniel Will-Harris
